There are two prices that you need to consider for your shirts: the retail price and the wholesale price.

THE RETAIL PRICE
This is what the end consumer will be charged for your garment when they purchase it from a retail store or online store.

WHOLESALE
When you sell your goods to stores or other middle men such as distributors, you will be charging them the wholesale price.
You should know that most retailers will want to double or “keystone” the wholesale price. This applies to brick-and-mortar as well as online stores.

This means that if you charge $12.00 for a shirt at wholesale, the retailer is going to charge their customer at least $24.00 for that shirt.

YOUR PRICING STRATEGY
You may be tempted to base your wholesale price solely in relation to your costs and what you feel you should make per garment.
In my opinion, it doesn’t matter what your costs are when pricing fashion t-shirts as it is pretty much determined by what others in your niche are charging due to perceived quality and positioning.
If you set your prices too low you may be perceived as a cheap, mass market brand; too high and you may just price yourself out of the market.
Check out what brands in your target market are charging for their tees and as long as the quality of your garment measures up to your competitors then you should be pricing yourself within a similar range.
